About Me

Hi, I'm Fiona,

Mummy to Henry, Ivy and Louie. Step mum to Brooke and Bradley.

I have always loved sport and exercise! I've been involved in it all my life and have lots of experience from coaching kids to racing for England.

Having studied Sport and Exercise Science at University and going on to study Sport management at Masters level I always hoped I would get the opportunity to leave the corporate world to do something I love.

I have been an Athletics coach in my spare time for many years and  I have now gone on to qualify as a fitness instructor specialising in pre and post natal fitness and Fiona's Fitness was born.

FAQ

How soon can I start exercising after having my baby?

Everybody is different and will feel ready to exercise at different times after giving birth. My advice would be listen to your body. However general guidelines suggest  that in an uncomplicated vaginal delivery you should be ready  from 6 weeks, If you've had a caesarean section you will need to wait until 10- 12 weeks. You should get the go ahead from your healthcare professional at your 6 week check.

Is it safe to exercise during pregnancy?

Generally speaking Yes. The NHS suggests that the more active and fit you are during pregnancy, the easier it will be for you to adapt to your changing shape and weight gain. If you are at all worried or your pregnancy isn't 'normal' speak to your midwife first.

Here are some useful links about pregnancy and exercise:

Can children come to all your classes?

Children are very welcome at all my daytime classes. I will have toys  to keep them entertained. All toys, seats and baby gyms will be pre-sanitised before the session.

Can I bring more than 1 child?

Of course, children are welcome at all my daytime classes. No problem if you just have one or want to bring more with you.

What if my My baby/ Toddler wont sit still or needs feeding?

Don't worry- we've all been there. If you need to stop exercising to comfort, feed or nappy change there is no problem, just join in again when you're ready and of course if I can help, just give me the nod and I will.

Do I need to do anything before I come to my first class?

I will send you a short pre exercise questionnaire. This is to make sure you are ready to exercise and help me tailor the exercises to your individual needs. I will also need to get you to sign on to the T&C's and we're all good to go.
